What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reading Coach position at YMCA of Central Texas?
The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Reading Coach for our Y Afterschool program.
Under the direction of the District Executive Director, and with the support of the research team at University of Texas, the Reading Coach is responsible for the successful implementation and completion of the following tasks:?
- Lead Implementation of UT Reading Research Program - Sound Partners
- Serve as the liaison between UT Research Team and YMCA of Central Texas Afterschool leadership team
- Participate in training related to the program
- Lead training for Y Afterschool employees, tutors, and participating students at 12 schools implementing the program
- Collaborate and problem-solve with Site Directors at 12 schools implementing the program
- Provide guidance and support for student behavior management
- Communicate with parents and stakeholders about program goals and be responsive to questions and concerns
- Provide guidance and support for differentiating instruction for students with various needs in reading
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a related field
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Teacher certification and/or teaching experience preferred
- Understanding of elementary literacy components
- Ability to lead training in small groups
- Ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders

Pay Rate: $18/hour
