GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Associate Executive Director is responsible for overall supervision and leadership of the Aquatics, Health & Wellness, and Buildings and Grounds departments at the Schottland branch.. The Associate Executive is responsible for revenue growth, fiscal management, financial development, facility management, hiring, training and supervision of staff of these departments. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Overall responsibility for leading the leadership staff in Aquatics, Health & Wellness and Buildings & Grounds, and provide support to the operations of each of these departments at the Schottland branch. This includes member satisfaction, programming and services.
· Provide leadership to directors in hiring, training, supervision, and continued development of all staff under positions umbrella.
· As necessary, act as a liaison between member and program regarding parent or participant concerns and work as the key leader to assure that a safe, fun and quality program is provided in all areas.
· General oversight of all on site programs in accordance with the policies, values, and standards established by the Association.
· Responsible for assisting with the financial development of Annual Campaign.
· Responsible for facilitating each department’s revenue growth and overall enhancement and increase of programs and services.
· Responsible for the overall facility appearance, and related equipment.
· Accountable for each department’s budget development and management. Ensure a strong fiscal position and appropriate resource allocation.
· Ensure all program operations are consistent with Association procedures, including maintenance, emergency, accident, purchasing, personnel, and accounting systems.
· Implement programs that identify safety, quality, and excellent customer service as top priorities.
· Serve as a member of the branch staff team, assisting with special events, programming, and committees as assigned.
· Work with the Executive Director to maintain and further develop contacts with community agencies, corporations, and potential donors.
· Assume full leadership of branch operations in Executive Director’s absence.
· Work with branch board members, volunteers as required. Lead Branch Board Committee as assigned.
· Maintain all required certifications.
· Attend all required meetings and training.
· All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
· A bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education or related field preferred.
· At least five years’ YMCA experience implementing and managing high quality and large volume programs.
· At least two years’ experience in a supervisory role with skills in recruiting, training and staff management.
· Must be self-motivated, hands on team leader with strong communications, networking and collaboration skills.
· High level of attention to detail and quality of programming, service and facilities.
· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage several projects at once and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Polished, professional demeanor with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
· Demonstrated success in driving revenue and managing expenses.
· Experience in fundraising and individual gift solicitation and cultivation
· Must have current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to sit and stand for extended duration of shift
· Must be able to bend and stoop frequently
· Must be able to lift up to fifteen pounds
