What are the responsibilities and job description for the Membership Representative position at YMCA of Pawtucket Inc?
POSITION SUMMARY:
To provide complete and quality customer service to members and guests at the YMCA in keeping with the mission, vision and character values of the association. The Membership Representative maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. The Membership Representative responds to member and guest needs and promotes memberships and programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must have ability to learn Daxko membership and other software as needed to perform data entry.
- Greet and address concerns of all people entering the facility with a warm and professional manner.
- Use member names at check-in whenever possible. Process guest with proper entry procedures with valid Identification including a waiver.
- Provide informative and personal tours of the facility to potential members with language that speaks to the mission of YMCA of Pawtucket.
- Review communications log before each shift and understand any changes
- Answer incoming calls, transfer all calls to appropriate department/director or provide accurate information about programs and membership, including researching information and ensuring resolution to all questions.
- Process all memberships, program and camp registrations and issue a receipt for all transactions.
- Perform financial transactions and reconciliations daily
- Perform emergency procedures and contact local emergency medical services when needed.
- Keep Membership Service Desk and lobby area clean and neat including refreshment area
- Inform Desk Supervisor and/or Director at least 2hrs before the start of your shift if you are unable to work your scheduled hours.
- Following opening and closing procedures as outline by the YMCA of Pawtucket.
- Perform additional duties/tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must become First Aid, CPR and AED certified within 90 days of employment or when scheduled for staff training.
- Outgoing and pleasant personality both in-person and on the phone.
- Willingness to provide Cause Driven Tours to potential members.
- Ability to multi-function in a fast paced environment with a positive attitude.
- Be able to work as part of a team and independently with instruction.
- Neat and professional appearance in Y shirt and name badge.
- Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Basic knowledge of computers.
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, walking and reaching.
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
- Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time.
