Under direct supervision of the Accounts Payable Manager, this position is responsible for timely processing of expenses and payments; will need to match vendor invoices to electronic purchase orders and confirm accurate posting to the general ledger; responds to inquiries from staff and vendors; supports Manager with vendor relationships and helps maintain auditable records. Responsible for organizing AP vendor files and storage.
- 3 years of Accounts Payable experience
- High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and accounting related programs
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills, be detail oriented
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Knowledge of finance department operations, of filing and administrative clerical operations
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and the general public, to maintain confidentiality in daily operations, to conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner
- Timely and accurate completion of accounts payable cycle
- Create and maintain a positive vendor relationship
- Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Audit and process credit card statements
- Respond to all vendor inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with Association policy and accepted accounting practices
- Oversight of purchase order and blanket purchase order processes.
