What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Recruiter position at YMCA?
To support the talent acquisition needs of the Y of Frederick County, this position will serve as point of contact with our leaders and prospective employee candidates. The Recruiter will also be familiar with recruitment strategies, community partners and creative approaches to attract top talent to the organization. This position will become intimately familiar with the needs of all Association departments to insure leaders have appropriate pools of candidates to fulfill the mission of the organization.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field HR Approved
- A minimum of 1-2 years demonstrated experience as a recruiter
- Understanding of general hiring processes
- Knowledge of employment/labor laws
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office, social media and HRIS systems
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- SHRM certification preferred
- Design, develop, facilitate and implement all phases of the recruiting strategy in partnership with the Chief People Officer.
- Prepare all recruitment materials, providing leadership and creativity in the job posting and advertising process.
- Develop strategies to market open Y positions differentiating us as the premier Not for Profit employer of choice.
- Identify and implement effective and efficient recruiting methods based on the role, tools and technology as well as the needs of the YMCA.
- Collaborate with Department leadership staff to identify and draft detailed hiring criteria for positions needed.
- Screen applicants (through resume review and phone screen) to filter candidates for further review by department managers.
- Oversee consistent application of interview questions and process throughout the organization.
- Assess applicants relevant knowledge, skills, experience and qualificiations.
- Monitor and apply HR Recruiting Best Practices.
- Collaborate with hiring manager and Chief People Officer regarding salary ranges, start dates and other pertinent details.
- Makes job offers and negotiates salary with candidates for all non-exempt positions to insure consistency and clarity within the hiring experience.
- Provide analytics related to recruiting results.
- Develop and update job descriptions as needed and in collaboration with the Chief People Officer.
- Serves as the Human Resources representative on various work groups.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, regulations and company policies.
- Develops meaningful relationships with area High Schools and Colleges.
- Coordinates and attends all job fairs, working directly with hiring managers based on their needs.

Salary : $42,000 - $45,000
