Objective:
The Director of Operations is responsible for the oversight of our three domestic warehouses and fulfilment centers. In addition, they will oversee the new bead production facility coming in 2023. They are primarily responsible for the oversight and execution of materials to all locations, inventory management and loss controls, forecasting, implementing procedures to maximize both production efficiency while maintaining a safe working environment for our employees, and ensuring all locations maximize their ability to hit their production/shipping goals.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success working in a fast-paced environment and be able to illustrate critical thinking skills in order to propose solutions for roadblocks and competing priorities.
General Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the COO to ensure all operational duties related to the forecasting, management, and production/shipping of our goods meets our production goals.
- Supervision of two warehouse managers plus collaboration with the third party run distribution center teams.
- Actively manage our bead production facility coming online in 2023. This includes managing the process from raw materials, WIP, to finished goods inventory.
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Oversees the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment
- Maintains physical condition of our warehouses by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols including driver qualifications, licenses, and testing
- Evaluates operating methods and procedures for improvements and total quality. Also, adheres to established operational procedures to ensure continuity in operating methods company wide.
- Ensures adequate warehouse staffing by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Monitor/enforce DOT regulations. Oversee the training of new drivers and/or follow up with current drivers on licenses and medical cards.
- Oversees warehouse staff job performance through training and coaching/counseling
- Controls costs and increases efficiency by carefully planning resources including personnel and equipment to assure maximum productivity and efficient use of vehicles to minimize costs
- Achieves financial objectives by adhering to budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
- Assures stores have proper inventory levels. Communicating and collaborating with location managers to insure no outages or overstocks through determination of proper transfer amounts and timely scheduling of deliveries
Qualifications:
- Five plus years operational management experience (required)
- Four plus years in a demonstrated leadership role with IT, including ERP implementation and maintenance knowledge (required)
- Inventory forecasting knowledge (required)
- Willing to travel for training proposes or visit to stores to understand their storage limitations and visiting other warehouse/distribution centers to ensure company policies and procedures are being met.
- Experienced in team projects relative to improvements in process.
- Experience with Lean concepts and practices.
- Thorough knowledge of operating policies, practices, and procedures.
- Experience leading through change.
- Polished professional, team-oriented, highly motivated self-starter.

- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Products
- B.S. or equivalent experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Compensation is based on experience and skill set-$100K/year
