Follow written instructions for connecting, adjusting and testing units.  Connect piping and instrumentation.  Start units and check for foreign noises and vibration.  Adjust valves, controls, carburetors, test stand air valves and distributor.  Check R.P.M. and timing.  Run units for specified time checking temperatures, barometer, air pressure, oil pressure and using these to figure air delivery on charts and formulas at specified intervals.  Make minor repairs and check units for loose bolts, wiring, tubing, fittings, etc., Check for water, oil and air leaks. Comply with product and process characteristics defined in prints, routings, specs, BOM and documented procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  •   Inspect work in-process and perform final inspections and tests using the prints, routings and documented procedures as the criteria for workmanship
  •   Use measuring instruments and gauges to verify dimensions for in process and final inspections 
  •   Identify hand tools used during final inspection on final inspection check sheets
  •   Use visual inspection to verify cosmetic appearance
  •   Perform final inspections and tests on product through functional and operating conditions testing.
  •   Accept and reject work in process and at final test.
  •   Generate a Defect Report or notify Area Manager if the work does not comply with reference standards and forward it to the Material Review Board per the Quality System Manual
  •   Perform Design Verification and Design Validation tests for Product Engineering and issue a copy of the Quality Record to the Quality Manager
  •   Complete Final Test Sheets and sign/initial the Test Sheet as proof of acceptance.
  •   Forward the completed Final Test Sheets to the Quality Manager
  •   Release product to customers
  •   Follow instructions for handling, storage, packaging, preservation and delivery of products as illustrated on wall charts in work area
  •   Notify Area Manager regarding changes or addition to procedures or work instructions
