What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Analyst - Quality position at York Hospital?
This position is responsible for accessing data from various databases to support quality and performance improvement initiatives (regulatory and non-regulatory). The Quality Data Analyst is responsible for entering data into multiple databases under the guidance of the Performance Improvement Specialists and the Safety and Risk Specialist. Serves as the administrator for the York Hospital policies and procedures. This position reports to the Director of Quality and Risk Management.
II. Principle Responsibilities and Duties:
- Enter and abstract data from a variety of quality systems applications
- Assist in submission of data for national reports
- Review data quality reports with Quality team members
- Assist in preparation of monthly reports, such as incident reports, nursing dashboards
- Manage creation and revisions of York Hospital policies and procedures that are approved through committees or departments
- Submit quarterly reports to leaders on existing policies that need the 3 year review
- Send out hospital wide notice of any revised or new policy
- Work with PI Specialist, Safety and Risk Specialist and Departmental leaders to identify and develop data needs for PI projects
- Create graphs and excel spreadsheets for performance improvement projects
- Develop new and revise existing hospital forms and order sets that have been approved by leaders, departments, or committees
- Other duties as assigned

- Required Knowledge, Skills, and Activities:
- Accurate computer skills in Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to be self-motivated in performing job duties, able to set priorities, and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to complete work within an appropriate time frame.
- Ability to channel quality concerns to Director, Leaders or others as appropriate.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality and security of all hospital-related, medical staff-related, patient-related data and employee information via verbal, written and electronic format.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with hospital staff and medical staff to ensure optimal quality/performance improvement processes.
- Ability to abide by all relevant hospital policies and support the patient vision.
- Attendance at seminars, webinars, and other educational programs related to performance improvement/quality management activities as needed.
- Education and Experience:
- Degree in Data Analytics, Health Informatics, or other applicable area preferred
- Three years of hospital or data experience.
- Training in performance improvement, total quality management or continuous quality improvement preferred.
