Position Overview:
Mazeh, a unique approach to modern Mediterranean cuisine and beverage, seeks professional, friendly, and enthusiastic host staff! We are in Miami’s newest Downtown destination, Yotel Miami.
As a host, you are expected to remain professional and energetic amongst all our guests. Although we are operating under strict occupancy guidelines, you are expected to maintain your composure in high stress situations. As a host, you are expected to provide gracious service to our guests and ensure a seamless seating process. You will need to coordinate with the Manager on duty to ensure that we are not over capacity and providing an enjoyable environment.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
- Must be an “out of the box” thinker. Bringing to life the YOTEL Miami Food & Beverage concept.
- Presents menu, answers question, makes suggestions regarding food and beverage.
- Greeting customers in a friendly manner and taking food and drink orders
- Answering customers' questions about menu choices Greet incoming and departing
- Guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort them to assigned dining area; present menus; announce waiter's name
- Use visual cues to seat Guests in either the bar or dining area depending on their preference -Inform Guest of current promotion and who will be serving them to ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff
- Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service
- Manage the flow of Guests into the Dining and Bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming Guests if appropriate
- Tend to special Guest needs and requests
- Observant to Guests’ needs throughout the dining experience to ensure they receive high quality service (i.e., notice a drink refill is needed while seating another Guest and ensuring the drink is refilled prior to getting back to the door).
- Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol control policies
- Help dining room staff by setting and clearing tables; replenishing water; serving beverages
- Promoting and recommending menu options to customers
- Maintaining inventory and equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting and scheduling repairs
- Keeping the work environment sanitary and organized
- Evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service
- Working to attract new customers and expanding the menu

- Adherence to all sanitation policies and protocols while embodying YOTEL Beverage & Food concept understanding how his/her actions and execution directly affect the guest experience.
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Attends daily pre-shift meetings and monthly departmental meetings.
- Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
- Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bilingual a plus
- Must be able to read menus
- Must be able to articulate clear greetings and farewells to guests, as well as being able to understand requests for assistance
- Must be able to clearly communicate guests’ needs to staff | managers
- Must be able to efficiently answer telephone and respond to guest requests in a polite manner
- Must be able to walk and stand during entire shift
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and wipe
- Must be able to carry trays or supplies (10-30 lbs.)
- A desire to help where needed and work effectively as part of a team
- Passion for providing extraordinary service

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
