Project Description: - Support development and integration of Punch-Out and Workday through database entry - Cleansing AT&T data line to support cost-saving initiatives - Data entry to track all YAI assets - Installing and troubleshooting MDM software - Formulating IT inventory database for all devices within YAI - Setup vendor meetings and compose meeting notes - Engage with YAI’s subdivisions such as PHI, iHOPE, MSA to understand business requirements for medical compared to academia. - Learn YAI business process, system integration, and the art of business contract negotiations on leasing and net terms The Student/Intern’s commitment: - To be punctual for all work calls and assignments - To complete the required internship days as laid out in the University program. - To conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner. - To agree that the intellectual property of all work done by them throughout the internship remains with the internship host Company. - To comply with any confidentiality agreements imposed by the Company. - Observe all procedures, rules, and regulations as stipulated by the Company. - To respect that GAV has invested time and resources to cultivate its relationship with the Company, and not to share contact or other details of the Company that could be used by others to attempt to source internship opportunities directly - To inform GAV if he/she believes the host company is not providing tasks in the workplace in accordance with this agreement. - To show initiative, drive and willingness to learn throughout the term of the internship. *This is an unpaid internship position. Initially staffed by Co-Founders Bert MacLeech and Pearl Maze MacLeech alone, their pilot program served just seven people. According to Bert, from its very beginning YAI has been dedicated to providing innovative services for the I/DD (intellectual and/or developmental disabilities) community. MacLeech envisioned a, “total life adjustment approach, emphasizing personal growth, social responsibility, employment goals, and the development of independence for the individual.” At a time when institutional living was the norm for people with I/DD, this vision was nothing short of revolutionary. YAI Today: Today, YAI has a team of over 4,000 employees and supports over 20,000 people in the I/DD community. This extraordinary growth shows the ongoing need for these important services, and YAI’s success in offering them. YAI supports people with autism, Down syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy, among others. Operating throughout Downstate New York and Northern New Jersey, YAI now offers more than 300 programs for people of all ages.
