Mission/Authority
Reporting to the Art Director, the Graphic Designer I will be responsible for creation and production of artwork onto a primarily digital platform. This position will design and implement artwork such as email templates, newsletters, social graphics, web banners, postcards, etc., and may be asked to create print-based artwork as well. This position will maintain brand standards through the creation of all design work and will remain on-task, producing design work on-time as per project deadlines.
Essential Duties
Digital Design
- Design, produce and upload digital graphics including email templates, Canva templates, newsletters, social and web banners.
- Complete production design tasks for already designed pieces.
- Assist other designers with project tasks as dictated by workloads and deadlines.
- Work closely with others on Creative Services team to develop/refine/streamline design/production processes in order to keep time and cost to customer down.
- Participate in department brainstorming sessions by offering ideas, input and feedback.
Project Management
- Prioritize workload according to the goals, objectives and deadlines of individual projects as assigned by art director and other department managers.
- Work closely with Marketing and Tech & Insights teams to ensure projects meet quality standards and requirements.
- Work with project owners to ensure project scope and goals are met within deadlines.
- Manage multiple projects at one time.
Education:
- Some college or technical school in graphic design preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment at Young Lifes Service Center in Colorado Springs, CO with the possibility of hybrid environment after training period.
- The anticipated hourly rate for this position can range from $16.69 - $20.89 depending on relevant experience and education.
Experience Required for the Job:
- 1-3 years of design (print and web) experience required.
- Proficient using Mac version of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Must have a working knowledge of Mac OS and Canva Design Suite.
- Fluency in designing within email marketing tools (Emma or similar preferred).
- Must be able to multi-task a variety of projects under tight deadline pressure.
- Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proven ability to solve technical problems and ability to learn and understand content management systems.
Salary : $17 - $21
