What are the responsibilities and job description for the CARE Member Specialist - Caldwell YMCA position at YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF BOISE IDAHO INC?

The CARES Member Specialist promotes individual and community health and wellbeing through direct engagement on the Wellness Floor creating opportunities for personal training involvement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop meaningful relationships with members to create a sense of belonging and connection to others.
- Conduct Get Started sessions using Listen First skills resulting in SMART goals and three completed sessions for members.
- Actively identify and offer additional support to members who may require help, such as health seekers, new members, and members with diverse abilities.
- Interact with members resulting in enrollment in Y programs (PT, challenges, fun runs, etc.) that help them achieve the two Cause Measurement goals.
- Educate members on policies using the Y voice attributes and create a clean and safe environment. Utilize the daily checklist.
- Engage with members to deepen their relationship to the Y cause.
- Introduce members to the health and wellness floor, group exercise communities along with other Y programs.
- Provide demonstrations on how to properly use strength and cardio equipment regarding exercise technique, safety and workout structure.
Qualifications:
- Experience in related field.
- Must be able to engage others in conversation and make all people feel welcome.
- Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
- Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Schedule:
This is a part time position up to 25 hours weekly. Schedule requirements varies by Branch but usually 9:00am-12pm and 4:00pm-7:00pm, Saturdays and Sundays are possible.
