Job Description
Veritas Counseling is looking for a college counselor to help guide students in the right path, whether it be to the college of their dreams, or helping them decide what they should do with their future as young adults.
Responsibilities:
- Guide students through their academic and extracurricular work and ultimately, the college admissions process.
- Offer advice regarding choice of career/major, coursework, college selection, and all related areas that compose a successful high school career.
- Help students navigate and fill out the UC, CSU and Common Application
- Help students brainstorm ideas and edit college admissions essays
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from a top university.
- Graduate degree(s) preferred although not required.
- Past experience in academic counseling required.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Experience as a college counselor is preferred.
- Solid follow-through skills and detail oriented.
- Bilingual: fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English is a plus!

We provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in all subjects, including AP and Honors courses, creating customized tutoring plans for each student based on unique learning profile and goals. Work Hours:
Part-time (15 - 20 hours per week) or Full-time (30-40 hours per week)
New Counselors will have a probationary period of three months and a training period for the first month.
After the training then Counselors are allowed to take as many students as they would like to have in order to increase hours. Maximum 40 hours per week. Depending on demand, this process can take several months. We guarantee a minimum of 15 - 20 hours of work per week regardless of caseload.
