Position Summary: This position works to increase parent and community involvement and communication in schools by working with the school's administration and utilizing community resources. Outreach Coordinator's goal is to create a supportive environment for the students to excel in their education. This position is also responsible for coordinating and overseeing the donation intake and distribution process in the Community Partnership School related to the food pantry and community resource center. Additionally, this position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the collaborative process in Community School related extended learning and enrichment programs.


Essential Functions:

  • Design and implement an overall outreach plan to engage families to participate in activities and services on campus and in the community.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute activities and logistics and support community activities in conjunction with Community Partnership School and school leadership in support of the goals set forth in the outreach plan.
  • Support the Director's efforts to effectively engage the parents and community stakeholders which align with the goals set by school leadership.
  • Provide information, advice, content and recommendations for community engagement activities to director and school leadership to advance visibility and Community School outcomes.
  • Participate in maintaining accurate and complete parent and community member participation and engagement data.
  • Develop and maintain a warm and inviting Parent Resource Center to foster relationships between parents, school personnel, and students.
  • Liaison with school administrative personnel to align system goals, program objects and community services; serve as creative partner for the Community Partnership School Team.
  • Coordinate educational opportunities for the purposes of promoting student achievement, student attendance, and home-school partnerships.
  • Assist in overcoming language barriers at gatherings, home and social visits, and at school activities.
  • Make home visits and/or phone calls to identify parent needs.
  • Create targeted programming to engage parents and students new to the school and provide specific strategies to involve them in student success.
  • Participate in the quality improvement process.
  • Assist with coordination and documentation of Title 1 requirements.
  • Serve as an entry point to the Community Partnership School for students, parents, and community members seeking resources.
  • Oversee facility management including safety, classroom, security and transportation.
  • Coordinate evaluation process, including surveys of students, parents and staff.
  • Recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist in food pantry and community resource center.
  • Understands and respects the diversity of economic, linguistic and cultural backgrounds and situations.
  • Establish and maintain contracts and data sharing agreements with providers, and other collaborators.
  • Assist with Pack-A-Sack program referrals, distribution and data collection.


Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED:


Education & Experience: Minimum or three years' experience in education and/or community outreach. Experience serving as an advocate for children and parents and preferably in an educational setting, building community relationships and convening workshops. Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services or related field is preferred. Valid Florida driver's license with reliable transportation and insurance.
