POSITION OVERVIEW
The Accounting Intern will primarily work remotely and support all mission sites by auditing submitted reports in the SAP Concur reporting system, communicating with summer staff any necessary changes, and tracking weekly store sales processed through Square.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accounting Intern will assist the Finance and Operations Teams in carrying out various tasks to support the summer mission season.
- Responsible for internal auditing of summer financial reports for YouthWorks summer staff sites.
- Reconcile summer sites’ financial reports, including verification of account coding, calculations, and review of supporting documentation.
- Communicate with summer site staff regarding questions, issues, or clarifications.
- Correcting summer site transactions in Concur reports as necessary and possibly recording them in the accounting records using Sage Intacct.
- Provide support with store operations, both with inventory distribution and recording sales.
- Additional tasks that support the ministries of Real Resources may be assigned if other duties are complete.
TEAM OVERVIEW
The Finance team is responsible for reconciling, recording, and reporting on the financial activity of the ministries of Real Resources, including YouthWorks, e625, and Border Perspective, to facilitate cash management, budget, and financial decisions, and ensure the integrity of all Real Resources ministries’ financial transactions.
The Operations Team works behind the scenes to support the work of the ministries of Real Resources. The team is responsible for ensuring business functions happen effectively and efficiently, supporting the processes and programs of the ministries, serving both the people and business objectives.
ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Real Resources is a nonprofit Christian faith-based organization that’s core purpose is to “help the Church be the Church by providing life-changing, Christ-centered resources for ministry.”
REPORTING: The Accounting Intern reports to the Finance Manager and will also take direction from members of the Operations Team.
POSITIONS AVAILABLE: One seasonal position (25-40 hours per week) is open for summer 2023 based in the Twin Cities of MN. Interns must be able to work from May 31 to August 18, 2023.
HOURS: Core hours for these positions will fall within the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
COMPENSATION: Intern will be paid $15/hour. There are no benefits as this is a temporary, seasonal non-exempt position.
REMOTE WORK: Position is remote, work-from-home, and may require visiting our office space periodically in Golden Valley, MN.

Physical Requirements
- Capable of completing tasks involving repetitive motion and lifting of heavy objects (including items 25 pounds and greater)
