Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Operations Coordinator oversees the day-to-day tasks of the Rental Department. This position also leads the coordination of the Whole Goods equipment inventory, and provides coordination and logistics assistance with efforts related to the Sales Department. This position plays a key role in the contribution to business development and revenue goals of company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee the whole goods inventory control.
- Improve efficiencies and seek new opportunities.
- Coordinate and set rent among Company branch locations.
- Assist in the logistics of getting equipment into, out of, and throughout Alaska.
- Recommend new equipment for sale and rental fleet to sales manager.
- Monitor new and current bid proposals.
- Create and adhere to rental budget.
- Create and close sales and rental invoices.
- Oversee dispatch, rental repairs and maintenance of rental equipment fleet.
- Oversee rental yard activities including equipment sign-out/check in, and yard organization.
- Oversee Rental Dept. operations and workflow.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:
This position has no supervisory duties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Excellent analytical and technical skills with the ability to apply information to Company products.
- Knowledge of budget process, and ability to meet rental fiscal goals.
- Demonstrated rental/sales volume producer.
- Demonstrated strong project management, and organization skills.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Strong knowledge of database software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software. Microsoft packages preferred. Ability to type 45 words per minute. Ability to learn new applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in order to deal effectively with a variety of interpersonal relationships and situations. Specifically, the ability to communicate with customers, and potential customers to ascertain business needs to sell Company product(s).
- Ability to contribute to planning and strategy development for long term company growth.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to actively listen and provide high quality customer service.
- Ability to do business ethically with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Ability to be detail oriented; superior organizational, follow-up, and records maintenance skills.
- Ability to exercise resourcefulness in assisting customers.
- Ability to learn and understand the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manager.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; secondary education in business, marketing, or vocational education in equipment preferred.
- Minimum of five years’ heavy equipment rental and sales and leasing experience required, with knowledge of logistics to, from and within Alaska.
- Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company’s Driving Policy.
- Ability to pass drug, driving, and background check.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud due to the running of heavy equipment. There is often limited exposure to chemical fumes generated by the shop.
