Our company is currently looking for a professional and reliable Dispatcher to act as our Company's point of contact with our internal customers and as liaison between plant operations and drivers. In this position you will be responsible for maintaining relationships with our remote magazine managers, our technicians and drivers for the efficient delivery of product and supplies. The position requires the ability to multi-task in stressful conditions with little supervision. In addition to being an excellent communicator the ideal candidate will also demonstrate superb organizational and interpersonal skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Arrange drivers/watcher for deliveries both to remote magazine locations and individual show sites.
- Make arrangements for the pick-up and return of import containers to rail facilities.
- Providing routing paperwork and all shipping paperwork per DOT regulations.
- Point of contact for Drivers while they are on the road. Must be available 24/7.
- Responsible recruitment of Drivers based on seasonal needs. This includes assisting drivers with attaining their Hazardous Materials Endorsement.
- Administer pre- employment, DOT and post-accident Drug Testing. This is accomplished through a professional organization specializing in this activity.
- Responsible for ensuring company compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations, including driver compliance files, FMCSA driver drug and alcohol testing, driver background checks/MVR and previous employment verifications.
- Maintain Driver Records to DOT standards, including all drivers at remote locations.
- Ability to adapt to fast paced seasonal business requirements.
- Manage daily workflow to strengthen organization.
- Work with leadership team to improve on time delivery.
- Maintain spreadsheet or database of all rental trucks, and coordinate returns in accordance with operational needs.
- Coordinate renting passenger vehicles to facilitate "chase" operations during busy season ensuring maximum efficiency
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptable to use of different job specific software programs.
- Ability to effectively navigate both scheduled and surprise audits by various federal agencies.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of dispatch experience.
Accountabilities
· Able to maintain a consistently reliable attendance record
· Pass a Federal Background check
· Able to pass both pre-employment and random drug tests
