Job Description:              

This is a professional position for an Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Design Supervisor working for an engineering consulting firm in the oil and gas, mining, and heavy industrial industries.  The candidate will be responsible for supervising a group of Electrical and I&C designers in addition to completing and checking electrical and I&C design deliverables while working in a fast-paced, schedule-driven atmosphere.  All work will be supervised by a Design Director.

Typical Job Tasks:

• Supervision of the Electrical and I&C Design Group
• Training, mentoring, and coaching of designers and entry level engineers
• Quality checks and quality assurance of all E/I&C design deliverables
• Scheduling, prioritizing, and right time execution of project work
• Assist in development of project schedules and budgets for E,I&C design tasks on proposals
• Talent search, talent development, and talent retention activities including conducting performance reviews
• Development of any required templates or details
• Electronic file organization
• 3D modeling of electrical equipment
• Schematics and wiring drawing creation
• Implement AutoCAD Electrical toolsets into ZAP standard workflow
• Dimensioned and multilayer drawing creation
• Electrical design calculations
• Cable tray layout and calculations
• Hazardous area classification development
• Lighting design and calculations
• Control Panel, RIO cabinet, and electrical panel layouts and BOM generation
• Network Architecture development
• 70% project work, 30% supervisory tasks

Essential Functions:

• Has understanding of multidiscipline engineering consulting projects and construction execution.
• Will be an expert within the industry and will develop procedures for new tasks to help lower level engineers and designers be successful. You will have the capability to apply research to new tasks to develop an appropriate path forward.
• You will have the ability to minimize errors on tasks completed by yourself, department, and project team.
• ZAP is successful when deadlines are met.  You will work with you supervisor and project management to develop schedules and durations for required tasks.
• Executes project within budgets utilizing task metrics.  Communicates clearly and proactively regarding budgets.

Attendance:

• Full-time regular work hours between Monday-Friday.
• Position may require occasional additional time including weekend work depending on task.
• Must be dependable and punctual.
• Ability to travel up to an average of 20%.
• This is an in-office position, presence in office is required.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 8 Years applicable experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel 
• Excellent verbal and written communication

Employment Type: Salary

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000, including competitive benefit
