Job Description:              

This is a professional position for a Mechanical Engineer working for an engineering consulting firm in the oil and gas, mining, and heavy industrial industries.  The candidate will be responsible for completing Mechanical Engineering tasks while working in a fast-paced, schedule-driven atmosphere.  All work will be supervised by a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer.

• Produce Equipment Datasheets & Specifications
• Technical Evaluations & Evaluation of Proposals: Equipment, Pipe, Valves, Contractor Bid Packages
• Develop and Review Pipe Specifications
• Engineering Support of Construction Efforts
• 3D Modeling Support & Isometric Reviews
• Produce Project Cost Estimates
• Produce Contractor Bid Packages
• Working Knowledge of Relevant Industry Codes
• Mechanical Tasks as delegated by supervisor
• Equipment Sizing Calculations
• Equipment Vendor Drawing Reviews
• PFD/P&ID Reviewing & Redlining
• Pump/Hydraulic Sizing Calculations
• Producing and Reviewing Construction Documents
• Produce Piping Takeoffs
• Pipe Stress
• Site Walkdowns Including As-Builts
• Peer Checks/Reviews

• You will have familiarity with pipe stress and/or CAESAR II software.
• ZAP is successful when deadlines are met. You will work with a defined schedule and report to supervisors the status of your assigned tasks and workload.

Attendance:

• Full-time regular work hours between Monday-Friday.
• Position may require occasional overtime including weekend work depending on task.
• Must be dependable and punctual.
• Ability to travel up to an average of 20%.
• This is an in-office position, presence in office is required.

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel 
• Familiarity with pipe stress and/or pipe stress software
• Excellent verbal and written communication

Employment Type: Salary

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 including competitive benefits
