The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Management
- Lead and manage a team of System Designers ensuring all deliverables are met.
- Evaluate performance on a regular basis; provide performance reviews, set professional development goals, and make recommendations for promotion and recognition.
- Develop, manage, and maintain engineering standards, processes, tools, and documentation formats.
- Maintain staff training and competency levels.
- Work with staff to build career paths and assist with career development within ZBeta.
- Design document review, architectural & engineering coordination.
- May lead or support projects in drafting/modeling of complex security floor layouts for access control, video, and other various security system, wiring diagrams, block diagrams, and access control board layout drawings.
- Responsible for overall Quality Assurance of projects.
- Manage QC process by reviewing drawings and evaluating the need for design changes; make appropriate recommendations.
- Ensure that production of drawings meet scope, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Engineer and Project Manager on projects from design to closeout.
- Guide and mentor System Designer staff, identify areas of personal expertise and seek out opportunities to lend expertise to team members.
- Foster a work atmosphere conducive to collaborative efforts.
- Oversee teams project commitment and deliverables to ensure timely delivery of packages.
- Work within allocated hours and timeline to ensure a timely, cost-effective design delivery, which may require working extended hours.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Experience: 2 years managing and leading a team. 5 years of Revit experience in a professional environment required. 5 years in system design or security technology experience preferred.
- Education: Associate degree, Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit for Electrical Design, or relevant work experience
- Knowledge:
- Electronic security experience with vendor-specific knowledge (Lenel, Software House CCure 9000, DMP, Milestone, etc.) is a preferred
- Skills:
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
- Proficiency in Bluebeam preferred, Navisworks and Dynamo is a plus
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and work quality
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Abilities:
- Tech-savvy professional, who is curious about new technologies and the demonstrated ability to apply new systems to everyday tasks
- Demonstrated experience leading a team, and acting as a role model while guiding, developing, and mentoring others

- ZBeta is a remote-first company with a distributed team. This role is open to individuals based in the United States.

- Candidates must be able to meet client and/or government security screening requirements for the role
- This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship.
- The successful completion of a background check is required upon hire and every two years thereafter
