Position Summary:
Third Party Administrator of employee benefit funds is seeking a Bookkeeper. Candidate must be a self-starter and detailed oriented. Bookkeeper reports to staff accountant supervisor.
"Has minimum necessary access to Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) by Job Description/Role."
General Duties:
- Prepare wire/book transfer letters and maintain daily cash
- Review of all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Sort and distribute incoming mail
- Process check requests
- Audit and process credit card bills, if applicable
- Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly
- 1099 full cycle process
- Respond to all vendor inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
- Assist in month end closing
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Daily management of positive pay process
- Health Reimbursement Arrangement administration
- Assist and prepare for various Plan audits/reconciliation
- Prepare reporting as needed
- Consistently demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in accounting, be a fast learner with strong attention to detail, be well organized and able to work with little supervision
- Basic bookkeeping knowledge required.
- Familiarity with automated accounting systems preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel;
- Detail oriented;
- Good communication skills;
- Ability to follow departmental and company procedures;
- Ability to balance data batches to cash, prepare bank deposits;
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure;
- Excellent attendance record; and
- Proven skills regarding contributing to a positive work environment
