We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Superintendent to join our team in the refrigerated storage sector. The Warehouse Superintendent will be responsible for managing all external warehouse operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our refrigerated storage facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Directly manage all external warehouse operations, including overseeing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods in a refrigerated environment.
- Collaborate closely with the foreman who manages all internal warehouse operations, ensuring seamless coordination between external and internal functions.
- Implement and maintain strict inventory control procedures to minimize losses and maximize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, particularly in handling perishable goods.
- Supervise and train warehouse staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in the refrigerated storage sector.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics processes.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for handling perishable goods is a plus.
