Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for nearly 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.
As a member of the Zepf Leadership team, the Director of Finance will serve as a resource to the CFO and other senior leaders. The position is a hands-on and quality-focused financial analyst that works daily to create, implement, and suggest improvements to the organization’s budget and revenue generation. The position works to maximize revenue from all sources including grants, medical billing, donations, and investing. The Director of Finance will create budgets for Local, State, and Federal Grants and ensure that the Accounting for such grants is implemented effectively, and that it meets GAAP Principles, or any specific requirements of the awarding agency. In addition, the Director serves as the primary liaison with Grantors at of levels regarding Finance and Budget matters. The Director of Finance also oversees all Real Estate functions of Zepf Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the CFO to develop and implement the organizational budget, including Departmental Budgets.
- Creates, implements, and reports on all Grant Budgets of the organization.
- Serves as the primary liaison with Grantors, such as the Lucas County MHRSB, as it relates to financial matters. Attends Community Board Meetings, Project Meetings, and other Stakeholders.
- Works side by side with the Controller to perform month end close functions.
- Act as a liaison with senior leadership to improve Net Income by Cost Center.
- Develop, implement, and provide audit support for Grant Budgets and Financial Requirements.
- Review all financial transactions, including billing, finance, purchasing, accounting and reporting.
- Develop, implement, and review reports with organizational stakeholders, as needed.
- Oversees the process to negotiate and implement the Federal Indirect Cost Rate Agreement with SAMHSA or current Federal Cognizant Agency.
- Make recommendations to improve employee productivity, thereby maximizing revenue generation.
- Assists the CFO to oversee organization’s investments and savings accounts.
- Assist the CFO with Real Estate administration, including but not limited to Fees and Assessment processing, Tax Exempt Applications, strategic geographic location planning, and facility process improvement.
- Provide financial process improvement recommendations.
- Develop and implement improved electronic recordkeeping of financial support documentation, including but not limited to Audits, Monitoring Reports, Grant Agreements, Contracts, and Quotes.
- Provide regular supervision and management to all direct reporting employees including the Senior Accountant, Grant Accountants, and other Finance and Grant staff as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field required
- Five (5) years of experience in Budgeting and/or Accounting
- Preferred experience in a supervisory role
