About the Team The Immigration and Travel Management Team supports ZF North America sites for temporary and long-term immigration and travel.
This is a rare opportunity to join the dynamic cross functional Immigration and Travel Management team. Training will be provided.
What you can look forward to as an Immigration Specialist
- Serves as the initial point of contact for HR and ZF employees as well as newly hired employees regarding immigration related questions and topics.
- Support Local HR with case initiation and verifying accuracy of employee information.
- Act as liaison and coordinator between the company and the legal immigration consultants.
- Provides daily expertise and guidance to internal customers (e.g. inpats / expats, international transfers, co-ops, interns, trainees, management etc.
on all end to end immigration processes.
- Supports processes and coordinates with HR and employee with visa process, primary focus on US immigration and secondary for non-US touching immigration matters.
- Support cost calculation estimations (similar to Total Cost Projections) for immigration steps and related expenditures with regard HR practice and procedures in order to support management’s decision-making process.
- Manages and assists foreign citizens with immigration procedures; works with third-party law firm as required to provide necessary documentation and ensure effective process management.
Escalates issues as needed.
- Support topics relating to immigration for international assignments, and international student programs; serves as a point of contact for inquiries in the above areas.
- Verify compliance with immigration and legislative requirements of home and host country.
- Works with local HR Business Partner to ensure effective employee communications.
- Creates an environment of positive employee relations while keeping confidentiality, credibility, and trust.
- Balances business and employee needs, including direct interaction with employees.
- Monitors and ensures employee records are maintained accordingly to compliance requirements and approved guidelines.
- Support HR teams to ensure visa status is maintained in PeopleSoft payroll system.
- Monitors monthly reports to communicate with local HR to update on employee status.
- Supports and complies with established Company’s Corporate Principles.
- Providing ad hoc support to Travel Management team on various travel related tasks at necessary.
Your Profile as an Immigration Specialist
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 3 years of experience
- Working knowledge in providing US visa and immigration support both temporary and green card
- Comprehensive understanding of HR processes and procedures
- Expert level in the use of Microsoft Office tools
- Good Written and Oral Communication skills
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management
- Confident in working with all levels of the HR organization
