6:00am-6:00pm (1st Shift) Friday, Saturday & Sunday
6:00pm-6:00am (3rd Shift) Friday, Saturday & Sunday
General Summary: Works under general supervision. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned projects or goals. Able to learn all aspects of technical support for new processes quickly. Performs repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical control systems, electronics, mechanical and hydraulic conventional and NC/automatic machine tools.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Repairs and maintains production equipment in a timely manner
Performs troubleshooting of electrical, controls, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
Able to dismantle, move, assemble, install and repair all types of conventional and NC/automatic machine tools
Reads and interprets blueprints, layout plans, operating and repair manuals and often works from verbal instructions.
Implements upgrades and changes to existing equipment and develops manufacturing sketches of equipment and fixtures; performs diagnostics via computer terminal
Sets up and operates conventional machine tools and fabrication machinery to rework parts
May perform minor rebuilding projects on major machine tools and equipment
Interfaces with and supports Manufacturing, Controls and Quality engineering
May orient, train, assign and check the work of associate technicians and operators
Supports and shares knowledge with other technicians
May perform routine and repetitive production activities where work is of a machine loading and tending nature such as assembling and post-processing of inflators
Abilities:
Good communication skills both oral and written. Knows high and low voltage and proficient with the use of test equipment, voltmeter, amp meter, etc. Able to set-up and operate conventional shop tools and fabricating equipment to repair parts. Able to dismantle, install, upgrade equipment of fairly complicated design from blue prints, detailed drawings or instructions/sketches.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED
Some related certification or 60 credit hours towards a technical degree is preferred
Generally 4 years of related experience and demonstrated proficiency.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to use small hand tools. Must be able to lift 40 lbs regularly and perform continuous, active, physical effort. Work may require the use of specialized safety equipment. Prolonged period(s) of standing required.
ZF Mesa Operations screening process includes substance abuse screening test, ATF lifetime background check, and a verification of eligibility for employment. U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident Status Required.
