What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Editorial Manager position at ZGF Architects?
ZGF is seeking a Senior Editorial Manager to join our team in any of our US offices. Working at the firmwide level and in close alignment with the firmwide communications team, this role will deliver stories that elevate and spotlight ZGF’s purpose, values, and expertise by combining a thorough understanding of the ZGF portfolio, the firm’s thought leaders, and audiences, as well as data and strategy insights informing those audiences and ideas. These narratives will weave into impactful communications deliverables that support business development and marketing efforts across the firm. This role will work collaboratively across all business units at ZGF to ensure targeted and meaningful deliverables for the range of ZGF client touchpoints.
As a Senior Editorial Manager, you will…
Create stories on ZGF projects, people, ideas and more that capture the firm’s values, purpose and expertise
Shadow project teams to capture project narratives from inception of project through to completion
Develop storylines that unite the portfolio in new and unexpected ways
Work closely with firmwide graphics team to support in translating written stories into visuals that support in storytelling
Support the firmwide communications team in pitching stories to external outlets and growing visibility of the stories with our internal stakeholders
Develop Editorial and Style Guide for writing, to be used across ZGF’s communications teams
Act as a writing mentor to ZGF’s communications teams
Qualifications:
10-15 years of experience in an editorial setting, preferably including writing for media outlets
Demonstrated portfolio of written work leading to publication
Existing network of media contacts a plus
Interest in architecture and design is a plus
Facility in uniting matrixed teams, managing expectations, and delivering value across an organization
Ability to synthesize and present complex information in digestible and relevant formats
This role will require occasional travel to other offices for the purposes of story capture
