Software Engineer / Technical Consultant

Location: Cambridge, MA

This individual will be responsible for designing and developing complex, full stack, web applications, API's, and microservices that support research, clinical, and business operations.

Work on applications using Python, TypeScript, and JavaScript, maintain our CI/CD pipelines leveraging Git, Jenkins, Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents and performs program coding and testing. Resolves technical issues through debugging, research and investigation. Familiar with data structures and other standard concepts, practices and procedures required for the application development. Requires a degree of creativity and latitude. The individual will also work with Business Users, Managers or Developers of our customers. The individual will provide the consulting skills required to analyze customer needs and gaps and propose solutions to achieve the desired state. The individual will also manage a remote team and delegate design, documentation, development and testing activities.

• Develop applications to empower scientists working on innovative treatments in genomics, biology, and chemistry. You will work with your team to “fail fast” and continuously release improvements safely and efficiently.
• Tackle complex frontend issues that involve technical and design challenges. We focus on both large and small applications that handle substantial amounts of data. How this data is processed and presented is key to the efficacy of our research.
• Engage with senior business leaders to develop innovative software solutions that drive research.

We get excited about Software Engineers with:

• Experience creating or managing a Design System
• Strong knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Experience with AWS Amplify and a high emphasis on testing
• Experience with writing infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, Terraform or related technologies
• Experience with Benchling, Dotmatics, Sapio or similar Life Sciences Research and Development Cloud platforms
• Biology or Chemistry degree and experience with the drug discovery process
• Ability and desire to bring their very best each and every day

What you bring to the table:

• 5 years of professional experience as a software engineer
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and an Angular Guru
• Strong knowledge of Python, Flask, or equivalent framework
• Experience with Reactive programming (RxJS), Redux State Management(NgRx)
• Experience working with Docker, ECS, Fargate or other container services
• Strong knowledge of modern CI/CD processes and pipelines
• Highly collaborative and an excellent communicator
