Scrum Master (Remote)

Job Summary:
This individual will serve as Scrum Master for several scrums as a leader/coach guiding Agile teams focusing on projects that support the operation and maintenance of enterprise-level Air Force systems. The applicant will oversee project development and ensure effective completion and delivery providing administration of program operations to include project management, risk management, and work closely with product owners, scrum team, capability delivery managers and program managers.
Responsibilities:
- Promote Agile culture, values, behaviors, and principles
- Foster a collaborative team environment
- Partner with Agile Coach to provide constructive feedback for continuous improvements
- Plan and conduct meetings/ceremonies – Sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand up, sprint reviews/retrospectives, etc.
- Review and manage backlog and in-progress items to ensure the latest work status is captured and updated as appropriate
- Possess the ability to maintain team metrics and report project statuses on a regular basis
- Take ownership in seeking resolutions of issues or blockers
- Coordinate with other DevOps/teams on inter-dependencies
- Lead release management, to include end-to-end regression test coordination, ensuring SDLC artifact adherence runbook coordination and deployment support
Required Abilities/Experience:
- Experience with Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Lean, DSDM, XP, Crystal, etc.)
- 3 years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master
- Capable of anticipating potential problems and respond to minimalize impact
- Manage the needs of multiple stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
- Ability to understand system flows, interface details and system infrastructure
- Ability to recognize and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Ability to review and manage backlog items to ensure work status is tracked and updated
- Hands-on experience creating a collaborative team environment
- Proficient in MS Office applications: Excel, MS Project, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint
Desired Abilities/Experience:
- Scrum Master (CSM/PSM/SSM)
- PMP, PMI-ACP, PMI-DASM, PMI-DASSM, PMI-DAC
- SAFe experience, SA, RTE, SSM
- 8 years’ experience in a scrum master role in Software Development
- Proven record of progressive responsibility with several projects leading multiple development teams
- Strong familiarization of project management software (e.g., JIRA, ADO, Confluence, etc.)
- Previous experience as a software developer is highly preferred
- Experience in Cloud Technologies a plus
- Effective facilitator who can actively listen, remain neutral, ensure all voices are heard and ask open ended questions
- A change agent that advocates for continuous improvement
- Possess superb communication and people-interaction skills, and can collaborate and partner with others within and outside the team
Minimum Education:
HS diploma with 8 years’ IT experience
Associates with 6 years’ IT experience
Bachelors with 4 years’ IT experience
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
