Position Summary
The Xtreme Kidz Manager is the primary leader and visionary for the children’s ministry on the Woodbridge Campus. In addition, they work in tandem with the goals of the Woodbridge Lead Pastor and the Global Children’s Director of Zion Church to empower leaders, evaluate systems, enhance each experience, and engage families on the Woodbridge campus. The Global Children’s Director will provide the ministry template; however, the Xtreme Kidz Manager will customize and innovate programs that specifically serve the Woodbridge Xtreme children and parents.
Essential Duties
- Drives the Children’s Ministry for the Woodbridge Campus and implements the goals, vision, and heart of the Woodbridge Lead Pastor and Global Children's Director
- Shepherd children and families ensuring each discovers more about God and make the decision to live for Him
- Directs all aspects of the weekend services and additional weekly children’s experiences by developing SOPs for setups, implementation, and breakdowns for the events
- Strengthens the organizational structure of the Xtreme Kidz Children’s Ministry by creating new departments and secondary tiers of leadership for the execution of its curriculum and programs
- Builds volunteer teams and hosts volunteer drives in order to effectively handle all responsibilities and support the overall vision of the Xtreme Kidz Children’s Ministry
- Screens, recruits, and empowers Xtreme Kidz Children’s Ministry volunteers and staff
- Creates development plans and provides growth assessments for all volunteers
- Builds camaraderie and culture through volunteer appreciation and relational experiences outside of the weekend services
- Manages the Xtreme Kidz Children’s Ministry Woodbridge Campus budget and allocates resources to its supporting departments/teams
- Plans, edits, and implements curriculum-based lessons for all experiences according to the relevant age group
- Identifies ways to ensure that parents are aware of our topics and aids them in creating intentional moments of conversation at home
- Builds a system to strengthen communication between the Xtreme Kidz Ministry and parents
- Systematizes service opportunities for children inside and outside the service experience
- Organizes relationally-driven events for children and their families outside of the weekend services
- Advertises and promotes ministry events, curriculum, structural changes, and other pertinent information to the Zion Staff, Campus leaders, and parishioners
- Maintains accurate records of parents, children, and volunteers
- Hosts outreach opportunities, identifying creative ways to reach the community and families and connect them to Zion Church
- Partners with all support ministries (Operations, IT, Communications, Production, etc.) to ensure smooth weekend experiences for Xtreme Kidz Ministry
- Attends weekly meetings with Woodbridge Campus staff
- Implements and oversees all onboarding and security protocols for Xtreme Kidz volunteers on the Woodbridge Campus
- Assists with the planning and implementation of special events/services that impact children and families on the Woodbridge campus
- Maintains a “dotted-line” relationship with the Global Children’s Director for additional resources and questions
- Willing to collaborate and participate in Global Xtreme initiatives and events
- Serves in a leadership role on the Woodbridge Campus
- Provides a strategic vision for the Woodbridge Children’s Ministry and strategic input for the Woodbridge Campus
- Perform additional responsibilities to support the overall vision of the Woodbridge Lead Pastor and Senior Pastor of Zion Church
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
- Exemplary character – punctual, takes ownership, responsive and altruistic
- An understanding of children’s emotional, cognitive, and physical development; a background in elementary or early childhood education is preferred but not required
- Experience with project management and organizational leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership ability to cast vision and mobilize their team
- Strength in the area of problem-solving and execution
- Introspective – self-motivated and passionate to grow
- Requires a minimum of two years of work experience in education and experience teaching, or volunteering with children, ages toddler to sixth grade
