Zions Bancorporation is seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer with strong Data and Application Integration skills for an excellent opportunity within our Solutions Design team. This team is transforming how the bank integrates and governs data assets through a common fabric. We are in the early stages of this strategy which means this person will have the unique opportunity of influencing the design and approach and really make an impact!
Responsibilities
- Partner with Data Governance Engineers to ensure all System Integrations (API’s, Files, Messaging) are identified, cataloged, and adhere to governance standards
- Partner with data & integration product teams to architect, design and implement solutions and guide them toward adopting best practices and sound patterns
- Work with Data & Integration Engineers to drive adoption of architectural patterns and inner-source solutions
- Assessing current system architecture and collaborating with technical staff to identify areas for improvement
- Coordinate with Enterprise Architects to define and implement reusable design patterns
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 6 years’ experience in one of the following (can be a combination):
- API & Stream Process Integration
- Data Engineering (Big Data)
- Cloud
- Software Development
- Knowledge of software engineering practices and programming languages. Familiarity with Java, SQL, Python, JavaScript.
- Working Knowledge of REST, JSON, SOAP, XML, API Security Policies (OAuth, JWT, JWE, HMAC, WS-Security*)
- Conceptual understanding of data governance capabilities (e.g. data catalog, classification, profiling, data sharing)
- Ability to communicate at all levels from Developer to Executive
- Experience with streaming/messaging technologies, such as Kafka, MQ
Plus (one or more)
- Previous Integration Engineer/Architect experience
- Experience with API Gateways and middleware technologies, such as Apigee, IBM ACE
- Understanding of applications built on Docker and Kubernetes
- 2 years experience with Azure DevOps
- 2 years experience with CI/CD (e.g. Xebia Labs or Azure Pipelines)
- Google Cloud experience (e.g. Apigee X & Hybrid, BigQuery, GCS, Databricks, Pub-Sub)

This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah.
