Zippo Manufacturing Company is currently seeking qualified applicants for a full time, majority remote, and salaried opportunity as a Social Media Strategist.
The Social Media Strategist will be responsible for supporting all marketing initiatives via:
- Content creation, copywriting, posting, and monitoring for corporate social media platforms and Zippo websites.
- Management of social media advertising, including ad creation, targeting, budgeting, tracking, and reporting with direction from Global Manager, Social Media.
- Managing the day-to-day interaction on various platforms.
- Ensuring global social marketing activities are aligned with corporate goals and identity.
- Assisting with the development and execution of communications for product releases, promotions, and special events.
What you’ll do:
- Execute existing, and propose new, strategies for all brand social media channels including usage guidelines, message mix, scheduling/volume, and the role of each channel in overall marketing strategies.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Licensing, Legal, Consumer Relations, and other stakeholders on program implementation and execution, ensuring alignment with and support of overall marketing efforts.
- Monitor ongoing evolution of all social media sites and propose strategies and features as appropriate.
- Generate content and text for internal and external corporate communications, including consumer and trade publications, Zippo websites, Zippo social media sites, and communications for internal information centers.
- Monitor Zippo-related posts and commentary across all key social channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) daily; produce and distribute meaningful, actionable analysis on key conversation topics, volume, and sentiment for management review.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis of social channels in response to perceived product problems and safety concerns, crisis situations, intellectual property issues, and other trends impacting brand image and consumer opinions. Provide insight and recommendations on overall communications strategies to management.
- Review, analyze, and provide actionable reporting on key engagement and fan base metrics for all existing social media channels.
- Manage all aspects of social media advertising for domestic, global, and geo-targeted campaigns, with direction from the Global Manager, Social Media.
- Ensure all content released upholds the spirit and guidelines developed for social media conduct.
- Monitor best practices for measuring the impact of Social Media campaigns. Review, analyze, and report on effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results.
- Evaluate publishing tools, emerging technology, and trends relevant to social media.
- Monitor cultural local and world events to ensure planned content is appropriate.
- Perform related duties or special assignments as directed.
- Uphold company image of quality to promote customer satisfaction and retention.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications /Marketing /Journalism or at least two years of equivalent training
- One- or two-years’ experience in relevant field
- Any similar combination of education and experience
- Experience with social media management platforms (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Falcon) preferred
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop preferred
- Social media knowledge – participation on or demonstrated understanding of current social media platforms
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Creativity – artistic ability and imaginative and original thinking
- Excellent people skills, positive attitude, and a highly motivated nature
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to initiate and follow through on multiple projects simultaneously
