Job Summary :
The Facilities Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all facilities and equipment within the company.
This role involves troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as ensuring the overall safety and functionality of the building.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and extend the life of assets.
- Assist in the planning and execution of facility improvement projects.
- Monitor and maintain building security systems, including access control and alarm systems.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including OSHA and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and work performed.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance services.
- Participate in emergency response activities and assist with disaster recovery efforts as needed.
- Provide support for facility-related events, including setup and breakdown of equipment and furniture.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment necessary for facility maintenance.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification is a plus.
- 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in facility maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with maintenance management software.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in various environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS).
- Knowledge of energy management practices.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
