For 25 years, Platinum Performance, now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zoetis, has been developing, manufacturing and marketing premium nutritional product formulas for wellness and athletic performance in horses as well as a range of pet care brands and human nutritional supplements.
The Platinum Performance Junior Accountant is tasked with handling day to day finance operations that includes Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable operations. The position will work under the direction of the Platinum Controller in Buellton, CA.
Responsibilities for Junior Accountant
- Process Accounts Receivable transactions
- Generate and Sending invoices on a daily basis to Platinum Clients via mail and email
- Generate and Sending statements on a monthly basis to Platinum Clients via mail and email
- Monitor Accounts Receivable Aging report to ensure timely client payments
- Manage collection efforts for past due invoices and credit holds
- Deposit cash and check payments
- Apply and reconcile daily cash/check/wire/ach payments to MoM system
- Answer client phone calls and assist Platinum Client Advisors of any client finance questions like invoice and statement questions, cash payments, tracking numbers, etc.
- Process Accounts Payable transactions
- Process and Review client Direct Dispense (commission) program on a monthly basis
- Sort, review, and scan vendor invoices to Controller for proper processing
- Assist and Process vendor check runs as scheduled
- Process End of Day MoM closing activities
- Running End of Day Reports - Sales Listing report and Journal Listing report
- Daily import of MoM Journal to Quickbooks
- Daily sorting and distribution of mails to various colleagues
- Answer and direct finance related calls to Finance colleagues
- Assist with other finance projects
Qualifications for Junior Accountant
- At minimum, an associate's degree in Accounting or related field
- 2-3 years of experience with collections, invoicing, and/or accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy and
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze large sets of data
- High degree of familiarity with daily finance operation functions
