We are looking for self-motivated, experienced professionals to join our team. Currently, we are seeking an Accounting Generalist in the corporate office in Ann Arbor, Michigan .
Accounting Generalist— Ann Arbor, Michigan
Successful candidates will be dependable, able to multi-task, self-motivated, have strong communication skills, accounting/bookkeeping experience and have a positive attitude. Candidates must be able to work independently and have a high level of professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable including:
- preparing daily cash deposits,
- processing credit card payments from customers,
- posting incoming customer funds in ERP system,
- reconciling customer accounts, and A/R aging reports,
- collection communications with customers.
- Petty cash management including:
- cash requests
- receipt collection and entry
- cash reconciliation
- Accounts Payable including:
- processing vendor invoices,
- posting outgoing vendor ACH payments in ERP system,
- archiving vendor invoices in electronic filing system,
- preparing and printing weekly check payments,
- reconciling vendor accounts and A/P aging reports,
- discrepancy communications with vendors
- Assist with month end close process including:
- credit card statement reconciliation and entry into ERP system,
- bank statement reconciliation,
- various journal entries for accrual basis statements,
- preparation of monthly financial statements
- Assist with preparation of various taxes and audits including:
- Monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax returns
- Annual 1099s
- Bi-annual and annual tax and insurance audits
- Provide support to other accounting staff
- Other tasks as directed by management
Requirements:
· Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States now or in the future
- Associate’s degree in accounting or bookkeeping certification preferred or equivalent work experience
- Strong Understanding of accrual basis accounting, internal controls and US GAAP principles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in entering financial data
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Able to work independent in an open office, handle distractions, and multi-task
- Effective prioritization of duties
- Analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Capable of making timely, independent decisions, meet deadlines and exceed expectations
· Experience in complicated large volume cash applications with various sales discounts and adjustments
