The Job
The primary purpose of the Zoomcare Billing Manager is to manage the Billing Department and ensure operations remain consistent with billing metrics and goals. This person’s overall job is to support and coach team members through the day-to-day operations and systems navigation to meet department goals. This role assumes ownership in ensuring all billing functions are performed accurately and on time. Proven leadership skills and effective communication skills are essential.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Be a hands-on manager for the Billing team’s day-to-day billing operations activities; hiring, training, and reviewing the performance of staff
- Oversee the team’s execution of accurate, timely account resolution for thousands of claims each week
- Serve as the primary escalation point for billing-related issues
- Be metrics-driven in the management of the team’s work, while never losing focus on the human element present in all great teams
- Proactively ensure that billing processes evolve as our company scales, specifically with a focus on automation and controls
- Drive innovation, be resourceful and creative to find efficiency
- Represent the departments’ needs as the company scales, specifically with a focus on future systems upgrades and implementations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations
- Perform regular 1:1’s with all direct reports to review individual key metrics and goals
- Audit productivity and quality of team emphasizing KPI’s and performance management
- Identify, track and report department metrics; Create action plans for deficient areas
- Ensure all team members receive the proper level of training
- Ensure adherence and compliance to governmental and internal system regulatory policies
- Identify and implement process improvements
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS AND/OR TRAINING:
- 3 years of management experience
- 5 years of operational billing and accounts receivable experience
- Knowledge of the complete revenue cycle management
- Coach, mentor, and or performance management experience
- Strong analytical skills, ability to work with large sets of data efficiently
- NextGen Practice Management experience preferred
- Superb critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
