Position Location: Animal Department
Zoo Keepers at ZOOSIANA are responsible for the daily care and maintenance of the entire animal collection. This includes, but is not limited to: diet preparation, feeding, cleaning, observing, training, maintaining exhibits, and more. Additionally, emphasis is placed on guest service, so comfort and enthusiasm in dealing with zoo guests (to include presentations) is a must.
Zoo Keepers are required to abide by all rules and policies set forth in the Animal Department and report directly to the General Curator. ZOOSIANA enforces a uniform policy and requires a clean, professional appearance at all times.

- Relevant experience (work or volunteer experience in a zoo environment, veterinary clinic, farm, or similar)
- Relevant education (degree in a related field [animal science, pre-vet, biology, etc.] or related course work taken)
- Valid references
- Enthusiasm and ability to learn and excel in a team environment (which does include several independent components)
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift 50 pounds
- Zoo Keepers work on weekends and holidays
