The Warehouse Operations Manager manages and coordinates the operational and systems infrastructure of a major operating unit of the Company under limited supervision. Participates in the development and implementation of unit policies and procedures. Prepares operational analyses and reports, and audits current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of operations. Manages the day-to-day activities of our administrative staff and works closely with the warehouse manager and sales managers to ensure a consistent and positive customer experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Overseeing the daily operations of a branch warehouse and its various components, ensuring compliance with Company, local, state and Federal policies and regulations
- Oversee and direct warehouse employees on a daily basis to ensure inventory is received correctly and pulled correctly for orders going out to customers
- Ensuring the team understands and accomplishes the company’s mission statement while adhering and enforcing all company safety policies and procedures
- Development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe operation of the unit
- Participates in various aspects of the employee lifecycle including hiring, performance management and termination of employment
- In conjunction with company leadership, maintains and manages personnel including work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluating performance and making recommendations for personnel actions; motivating employees to achieve peak productivity and performance to maximize the customer experience
- Participating in and coordinating the design and implementation of data collection and analysis systems for the unit including computer, applications programs, and administrative procedures
- Ensures customer cash, check and credit card payments are processed accurately and efficiently
- Assisting in processing national account orders, eCommerce orders, phone orders, will calls and returns
- Enter inventory received into inventory system and assist with and coordinate cycle counts of inventory
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of additional work experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed on the job description
- Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures and applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures within specialty area
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
- Employee development and performance management skills
- Ability to supervise and train employees including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
