Aardvark Clay and Supplies was founded in 1972 in Santa Ana, California, with the purpose of manufacturing quality clays and basic materials for the studio potter in the most customer oriented manner possible. As our reputation with the potters grew, so did our trade with schools and universities. We soon expanded to meet their needs with a wide selection of potter's wheels, kilns, tools, and books, etc. We now offer a well rounded selection of materials and tools for everyone, whether you're a hobby ceramist, sculptor, mold maker, doll maker, muralist, or professional potter. With the advent of the contemporary studio, we have made every effort to support this new approach to ceramics. We have consulted with many owners prior to opening and worked closely with them well after they have been established. Karen Rizuto, our contemporary studio specialist, has over 10 years experience as a studio owner and trainer. Aardvark currently supplies: studio potters, production potteries, schools, contemporary studios, and traditional studios all over the globe. From the US to the South Pacific to Asia to Europe, we offer quality products and quality service. Using our experience in the industry, we have opened Ceramic Education Studios at both our Santa Ana, Ca and Las Vegas, Nv locations. We currently offer classes and workshops in all areas of ceramics, year round. As our company has grown and changed, one thing has remained constant. We aim to provide the best possible customer service and products available.

Photography: Photography is the art, application and practice of creating durable images by recording light or other electromagnetic radiation, either electronically by means of an image sensor, or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film. It is employed in many fields of science, manufacturing (e.g., photolithography), and business, as well as its more direct uses for art, film and video production, recreational purposes, hobby, and mass communication. Typically, a lens is used to focus the light reflected or emitted from objects into a real image on the light-sensitive surface inside a camera during a timed exposure. With an electronic image sensor, this produces an electrical charge at each pixel, which is electronically processed and stored in a digital image file for subsequent display or processing. The result with photographic emulsion is an invisible latent image, which is later chemically "developed" into a visible image, either negative or positive depending on the purpose of the photographic material and the method of processing. A negative image on film is traditionally used to photographically create a positive image on a paper base, known as a print, either by using an enlarger or by contact printing.
