Job Title: Protection & Control Field Services Technician Job Description This position is responsible for the commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of transmission and distribution substation protective relay and control systems. Responsibilities include performing operational checks and tests on various substation equipment such as microprocessor and electromechanical relays and controls, current transformers, potential transformers, power circuit breakers, transformers, regulators, power line carrier radio, traps and tuners. The technician will troubleshoot and perform preventive and emergent maintenance on these substation equipment, operate and interpret readings from test equipment such as digital multi-meters, digital oscilloscopes, insulation testers, relay test sets, and radio frequency measurement equipment.
