Ascension Industries was founded in 1956 by John Kopczynski, Sr. as St. Mary Manufacturing Corp. to provide high quality machining, tooling, automation systems and related manufacturing services to original equipment manufacturers and other users of precision metalworking capabilities. In 1975, Mr. Kopczynski founded Ascension Sheet Metal Fabrication, Inc. adjacent to St. Mary, as his sons John Jr. (Jack) and Mike, became active in the business. Ascension added complementary capabilities to broaden the spectrum of services that the combined companies offered to OEM's and users of machinery and fabrication products. Over the years, both Kopczynski family firms prospered and grew; becoming a well recognized manufacturing resource, not only in Western New York, but also throughout the Northeastern United States and nearby Ontario. In addition to component parts and sub-assemblies, Ascension and St. Mary built complete systems, as more industries turned to outsourcing and just-in-time deliveries. To build on this, in 2001, the corporations merged to become Ascension Industries, Inc. This streamlined the organization's processes and allowed for the total integration of staffing, equipment, manufacturing, accounting, engineering, quality assurance, project management and sales efforts. This enhanced our ability to provide turnkey solutions for OEM customers, as well as maintaining the broad band of metal working capabilities. Seeing the opportunity to expand its horizons, in 2003, Ascension acquired the former Filtration and Separation Dynamics (FSD) of Angola, NY. This gave Ascension all of the drawings, intellectual properties, and even some of the former employees of the company. Since then we have created a network of sales representatives across the country and internationally to assist you in your filtration and separation needs. We are the only manufacturer of genuine FSD, Durco/Duriron, AquaCare, and Enzinger brand equipment and replacement parts. At Ascension Industries, the only limit is your imagination. ...

What Skills Does a person Need at Ascension Industries Inc?

At Ascension Industries Inc, specify the abilities and skills that a person needs in order to carry out the specified job duties. Each competency has five to ten behavioral assertions that can be observed, each with a corresponding performance level (from one to five) that is required for a particular job.

  1. Leadership: Knowledge of and ability to employ effective strategies that motivate and guide other members within our business to achieve optimum results.
  2. Continuous Improvement: A continual improvement process, also often called a continuous improvement process (abbreviated as CIP or CI), is an ongoing effort to improve products, services, or processes. These efforts can seek "incremental" improvement over time or "breakthrough" improvement all at once. Delivery (customer valued) processes are constantly evaluated and improved in the light of their efficiency, effectiveness and flexibility. Some see CIPs as a meta-process for most management systems (such as business process management, quality management, project management, and program management). W. Edwards Deming, a pioneer of the field, saw it as part of the 'system' whereby feedback from the process and customer were evaluated against organisational goals. The fact that it can be called a management process does not mean that it needs to be executed by 'management'; but rather merely that it makes decisions about the implementation of the delivery process and the design of the delivery process itself.
  3. Planning: An act or process of making or carrying out plans. Establishment of goals, policies, and procedures for a social or economic unit city planning business planning.
  4. Lean: Lean manufacturing, or lean production, is a system of techniques and activities for running a manufacturing or service operation.
  5. Initiative: Taking decisive action and initiating plans independently to address problems, improve professional life, and achieve goals.
