Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties in all areas of the distribution center. Communicates all custodial or housekeeping issues to maintenance supervisor, assistant maintenance supervisor, or DC management team. Perform maintenance duties for outside grounds of distribution center buildings. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Responsible for emptying trash containers, cardboard containers, and sweeping all floor areas of the distribution center. Operate floor scrubbing equipment and cardboard baler. Maintain all stations containing janitorial equipment such as brooms, dust mops, wet mops, mop buckets, etc. Assist maintenance team in maintaining and organizing the tote repair area. Maintain supplies of paper products and hand cleaner in all restrooms and break room areas. PRIMARY PURPOSE To perform a variety of cleaning activities in assigned buildings/facilities, keeping in clean, sanitary and orderly condition and to perform other tasks related to the area of assignment. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: High Dusting Using a treated high duster, begin cleaning in a counter clockwise direction around the room - high dust surfaces above shoulder height, i.e., lights above doors, curtain tips, vents and ledges. Cleaning the High Duster: Gently brush in a downward direction into service cart. Sanitizing / Spot Cleaning Using a germicidal solution, work in a counter clockwise direction around room, sanitizing surfaces below shoulder height, i.e., ledges, chairs, telephone, countertops and trashcans. Using proper solution, remove fingerprints and smudges from doorknobs and walls. Using proper solution, spot clean windows.
