The CES Foundation was created in 2007 with the mission of enhancing learning opportunities for students of CES educational programs, including enrichment grants to CES educators. Since inception the CES Foundation has funded more than $235,000 for mini-grants to CES educators, program grants for C.E.S. schools and programs, and professional development grants for educators in CES member districts. Applicants go through a rigorous application process and give both oral and written evaluations to the Board of Directors annually. The classroom-based mini-grants are designed to foster creativity and extend the classroom learning experiences beyond the regular curriculum. The program grants encourage full school or program experimentation and research in best and promising practices that not only enhance the learning opportunities for students in CES schools and programs but also may be shared with CES member districts. Once the success of either the mini-grants or the program grants have been demonstrated, it is expected that the concepts and experiences will be embedded in the regular operating budget. Four mini-grants have been awarded to CES educators in Special Education, School Readiness and the Regional Center for the Arts. The funded projects will allow preschoolers to have more access to technology and social-emotional learning opportunities, give TDP students a chance to expand their thinking and problem-solving skills through games, and support a virtual Master Class for RCA students with a working standup comedienne. Foundation has awarded 15 mini-grants to C.E.S. educators, totaling close to $10,000 in support of programs and classroom initiatives in 2019-20. The Foundation exists to support educational efforts through grants to teachers, administrators, and other education professionals. 1. Systems Engineering: Systems Engineering is a transdisciplinary and integrative approach to enable the successful realization, use, and retirement of engineered systems, using systems principles and concepts, and scientific, technological, and management methods.
  2. Analysis: Analysis is the process of considering something carefully or using statistical methods in order to understand it or explain it.
  3. Linux: Managing a system's hardware and resources using a Unix-like open-source operating system.
  4. Troubleshooting: Troubleshooting is a form of problem solving, often applied to repair failed products or processes on a machine or a system. It is a logical, systematic search for the source of a problem in order to solve it, and make the product or process operational again. Troubleshooting is needed to identify the symptoms. Determining the most likely cause is a process of elimination—eliminating potential causes of a problem. Finally, troubleshooting requires confirmation that the solution restores the product or process to its working state. In general, troubleshooting is the identification or diagnosis of "trouble" in the management flow of a system caused by a failure of some kind. The problem is initially described as symptoms of malfunction, and troubleshooting is the process of determining and remedying the causes of these symptoms. A system can be described in terms of its expected, desired or intended behavior (usually, for artificial systems, its purpose). Events or inputs to the system are expected to generate specific results or outputs. (For example, selecting the "print" option from various computer applications is intended to result in a hardcopy emerging from some specific device). Any unexpected or undesirable behavior is a symptom. Troubleshooting is the process of isolating the specific cause or causes of the symptom. Frequently the symptom is a failure of the product or process to produce any results. (Nothing was printed, for example). Corrective action can then be taken to prevent further failures of a similar kind.
