SUMMARY The Licensed Practical Nurse provides skilled nursing care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. The LPN provides nursing services that are within the area of expertise approved by the Florida Board of Nursing and with consistency to the patient's plan of care. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS Provides services in accordance with agency policies which include: a) preparing clinical and progress notes; b) assisting the Registered Nurse or physician in performing specialized duties; c) assisting the Registered Nurse in carrying out the plan of care; d) assisting the client in learning appropriate self-care techniques. Prepares clinical and progress notes (not to include admission). Observes, records, and reports to the appropriate person symptoms, reactions and changes including general physical and mental condition of clients and signs and symptoms which may be indicative of untoward changes.
