Poggio was established near Cassinasco, a small village on the hill surrounding Canelli, in 1982. At the beginning, the activity of the company was mainly concentrated on mechanical precision works. The customers were mainly the companies located in Canelli who manufactured enological machines and would acquire leader positions in the world market in their branch. Working with these important companies Poggio works learned their know-how and handicraft care so expanding with them. Thanks to both the experience and the idea that a rinsing machine could get an important segment of the market, the company started producing its own machines. The first rinsing machine of Poggio was a machine with a bottle overturning system with a rack and could work up to 3000 bottles per hour. Thanks to the success obtained, the company went on investing in the improvement of its machines and, in 1996, an overturning system through a cam was introduced with the FM96 model. In 1997, the range of products was totally innovated with the introduction of the FM97 series characterized by its compact and pleasant design. The success was so great that today the models deriving from its evolution represent the reference products of the company.
