Showcase Dance Productions was established in 1995 in Brockton, MA, under the direction of Sheryl Simons. This organization provides a strong foundation of dance education and offers unique performing opportunities for all types of talent and ages. It was originally designed for older students, who have graduated from high school or college, and wish to perform again without being in a recital atmosphere. Our professional productions in the past have included singers, dancers, magic, comedy, and of course, our spectacular stage lighting and special effects show. We have since expanded into a complete dance studio for children ages 3 and up, still offering the same unique performing opportunities. Our unique performing opportunities begin with a high standard of dance education in the classroom. Dancers are placed by ability and level of training to build a strong foundation of dance. An emphasis of technique, self-confidence and self-expression, along with stage presence and music appreciation, are taught in preparation for our dance productions. Our productions are broken down into two categories: The Student Production and The Choreography Production: The Student Production (Annual Dance Recital) is an exciting event which allows dancers the opportunity to experience the joy of performing and entertaining. At the same time, allows the student to present their hard work and training from the entire year. The Choreography Production was designed for the more advanced dancer ages 17 and up. Graduates from high school and college who studied dance and are interested in dancing again without being in a recital atmosphere, will find this program suitable for them. This program is also open to dancers from other schools or colleges. Singers, musical theater students, and other specialty acts, are encouraged to audition for a part in this production. Which ever program you choose, our goal at Showcase Dance Productions is to make your dance education a complete, well-rounded, rewarding experience!
