Harris School was established in 2000, originally as Indiana Developmental Training Center of Lafayette (IDTC). Developed out of our sister program Oconomowoc Developmental Training Center (ODTC) that has been serving individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities since the 1970s, IDTC became a vital part of the care for this unique population. We formally filed to do business as T.C. Harris School with the success of our residential and education programs. We feel that T.C. Harris School not only honors our former students, Thomas Harris and Crystal Harris, for whom the school is named, but also is a better reflection of our mission to truly teach skills to last a lifetime. Nationally known for our expertise in working with children with special needs, T.C. Harris School provides expert care for children and young adults who are dually diagnosed with a wide range of intellectual/developmental disabilities and emotional disturbances, helping them find greater independence, gain emotional and behavioral control, and achieve positive outcomes.
