The Children's Museum of Green Bay is a leading organization in our community. Its proven and popular programming is a driving force for attendance. Examples include Building Literacy with LEGOs, Science Saturdays, Recycled Art Studio and Wee One Hour (literacy-based). All programming and exhibits are closely aligned to Wisconsin State Standards and Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS). The organization strives to achieve its mission each day with a staff of seven full-time and four part-time individuals. As a team, the organization is able to lead 120 outreach programs, totaling 1,850 in attendance and close to 90,000 visitors per year to the museum. Many of the outreach efforts are STEM-based projects that offer learning opportunities to local students and families. Additionally, 3,000 children received a free admission pass to the museum for completing their summer reading goals through the Brown County Library. The Children's Museum of Green Bay does not work in a silo; there are many other community organizations that partner with the museum, including the Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay, Greater Green Bay YMCA, Green Bay Metro Fire Department, Green Bay Police Department, Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary, UnitedHealthcare, Eye Care for You, Wello, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, St. Norbert College, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Brown County Library, Einstein Project and the Green Bay Area Public School District, just to name a few. In efforts to reach all area children, the organization offers the quarterly E.A.T. (Easy, Affordable & Tasty) events to help low-income families eat well and play hard. Each event includes a free meal, scavenger hunt with learning opportunities about health topics, special activities with community partners and playtime at the museum.
