The Corbett Foundation was established by Mr. Dilip D. Khatau as a non-profit, non-government organisation and a charitable trust in 1994. The Corbett Foundation (TCF) is entirely dedicated to the cause of wildlife conservation, environmental awareness, community outreach programmes, tribal welfare and sustainable development initiatives. From a small beginning in Corbett, TCF has over the years grown into one of the foremost NGOs in India in the field of wildlife conservation and also working in Kanha and Bandhavgarh tiger reserves and around the Greater Rann of Kutch. Under Mr. Khatau's leadership and the generous support from the Conservation Corporation of India Pvt. Ltd. (CCIPL), TCF has undertaken many noteworthy and effective projects around Corbett, Kanha, Bandhavgarh tiger reserves and the Greater Rann of Kutch, as given below: Interim Relief Scheme, Mahseer Mitra project, Solar-powered Fence and establishment of the Centre on Global Warming in Corbett; Cattle Development and Breed Improvement Programm,eWatershed Management, Rainwater Harvesting, Habitat Restoration project and Save Indian Bustards Campaign in Kutch; Solar-powered Lanterns project, Vocational Training and Wildlife Awareness in Bandhavgarh; and establishment of Medical and Training Centre, Solar-powered Lanterns project, Vocational Training of tribal community, establishment of Tribal Museum and setting up of a 10 kilowatt solar power plant in Kanha. As a group, CCIPL strongly believes that conservation can only be achieved by involving the local stakeholders, providing them with employment opportunities and finally to lead a sustainable and harmonious lifestyle with nature.
