Requirements and Responsibilities

Aircraft Electrician installs and repairs electrical wiring and/or cable on aircraft in adherence to established specifications. Cuts and strips wire, insulates connections, and performs all other duties necessary in the installation process. Being an Aircraft Electrician may maintain manuals and maintenance documentation. May be required to verify accuracy and quality in accordance with established control procedures. Additionally, Aircraft Electrician requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Aircraft Electrician has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. To be an Aircraft Electrician typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may have 2 years experience plus an associates degree, or additional training or certification.
