Requirements and Responsibilities

Budgeting Supervisor oversees and facilitates the accounting analysis and review of expenditures and the preparation of operating budgets for departments and business units. Manages the collection and analysis of data needed to develop the preliminary budget projections for revenues and expenditures in preparation of the final budgets. Being a Budgeting Supervisor ensures the tracking and reporting of spending, revenue, and exceptions to budgetary limits are performed accurately and on schedule. Adheres to documentation requirements for audit and internal controls. Additionally, Budgeting Supervisor utilizes tools and dashboards to support operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Budgeting Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Budgeting Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
